Maybe Christopher Columbus was right

Let me preface this by saying, my title is completely historically inaccurate. Columbus was well aware the the earth was round. I just thought it was fun. Anywho....

I feel like I have fallen off the face of the earth. Hopefully I will return soon. Hopefully I will remember all of your names. Its been too long.

random jumble from my mind

So, I suppose that last post seemed a little dramatic. I didn't mean for it to sound as though I have been forgotton. I meant that I have forgotten so many things in the past few weeks. Its been a theme. I cannot remember a time that I have ever been busier. Between school events, traveling, my mom visiting, keeping up with lesson planning, running a household (haha) and the emotions that have gone along with losing a friend, I have just forgotten to breathe and get my priorities straight. I have forgotten to get enough sleep. I have forgotten to do the very best at my job. I have forgotten to spend time with my friends. I had a wonderful time at home. It was great to spend time with my family and friends and see the Pines. It has been great to see my mom for almost a whole week straight. But life has gotten so busy. And I know it has for all of you too. I remember that feeling of the last few weeks of school, being so excited, but so stressed, and feeling like time was slipping away from me. I am so happy I have a year of real life under my belt, but part of me is so jealous that you are all experiencing this together. Graduating together will be such a joyous event! (now I sound like my mother!) Enjoy the last two weeks of school, my friends!

Happy Birthday Tare!

Yesterday, I had the most lovely evening. Kristin and I celebrated Taryn's birthday with Julia Moon and the Johnson's. We sat around the dinner table for hours and just talked and laughed. I truly can't remember the last time I laughed so hard. We ended the evening by watching a home video of the girls when they were little. It was hilarious. Tare was about 6, and wanted the camera's attention the whole time. Kiera was 4, and hasn't changed a bit. And Sommar was just one and was toddling around being cute. It was fun to see a family that I knew so well when they were little. Today is the memorial service. I can't wait to be at one of my favorite places on the planet to celebrate Peder's life again.

Going Home!

I'm going home tomorrow night! To spend time with my family and remember Peder once again at Pilgrim Pines. I can't wait!

Spring Break

I got almost no school work done this break. But I did get a lot done on the house, and I kept my social calendar full. I saw nearly all of my nearest and dearest this week and it was wonderful.

My Favorite Thing

I love a lot of things about my new house, but today, I decided on my very favorite thing. Kitty corner from my house is a huge beautiful Lutheran Church. It has church bells that chime every hour, which I love. But it is the best at noon and 6p.m. At both of those times, the bells play a hymn. And not just like 10 seconds of one, but several verses. Yesterday it played "Christ the Lord is Risen Today" and today it played "Up from the grave he arose" and "All hail the power of Jesus name". I have always loved hymns. And now I love that once a day, all I have to do to hear one is to walk onto my front porch and listen. Today, KVP and I listened while sitting on my front porch sipping Starbucks and chatting about life. It was wonderful.
