I have never been a pack-rat.
I throw away pretty much everything, incluing things that are important.
I throw away paystubs, W2s, letters from my student loan creditors. I throw away old check books, old bank statements, and tax returns.
Learn from my mistakes, and keep everything that is ever sent to you.
When you apply for a housing loan, the bank wants proof of everything you have ever done....EVER.
I have spent the last few days chasing down every document that proves my existance and financial history. It is exhausting and expensive.
I have to remember that I am doing all this for a reason. The end is in sight.
oh no really?! i throw everything away too!! what do you need? old pay stubs, really??
ReplyDeleteEVERYTHING. You will be fine now, unless you are buying a house soon. but seriously, keep all paperwork...or at least scan it and save it before you throw it away.
